While Valleri was just getting back from her first freshman semester of college, her fourteen year old little sister was, herself, just getting through her first freshman semester of high school. After seeing how easily Valleri had seemed to have it when she was in high school, Alicia had figured that when she got there, she would have her choice of friends and boys.
But... the reality was, she had started out with neither, and things hadn't improved by Christmas.
But, seeing Valleri had improved her spirits almost immediately.
